The town soon got very important because of its favourable situation at a crossing point of medieval trade ways. The high lofts with several floors which were used as a stock remind of being Naumburg once a rich trade fair. You can find the flair of former centuries in the lanes and streets of the inner city. Naumburg has kept a big part of its historical buildings till today and shows a wonderful historical view of the town and therefore got the name `Domstadt Naumburg`.
