Merseburg and Naumburg - two cathedrals in Saale-Unstrut in one day

Let yourself be whisked away to the treasures that already captivated the Brothers Grimm!

Merseburg Imperial Cathedral - from mysticism to fairy tale

The 1000-year-old Merseburg Imperial Cathedral grew up in a place where the fate of the empire was controlled in the Middle Ages. Emperor Heinrich II often stayed in the Merseburg Palatinate and decorated his cathedral in the most magnificent way. Today, Merseburg Cathedral is a jewel on the Romanesque Road. It is not only the world-famous "Merseburg Spells", which freed prisoners from their bonds in pre-Christian times and by which even the Brothers Grimm were fascinated, that provide excitement. Immerse yourself in the world of legends! On a guided tour or on your own with the audio guide, you will find daily offerings that make the treasures of Merseburg Cathedral speak for themselves. Treat yourself in the Merseburg Old Town a time out! Cafés and restaurants offer regional specialities.
