Already in a document of Otto II (October 22, 973), which seals an exchange contract between the archbishopric of Magdeburg and an abbey in Fulda vineisthat is, vineyards or gardens. Later, a large number of wine-growing huts were built, which characterise the image of the vineyards. On almost 70 hectares, wine was cultivated in Höhnstedt in 2017. There are about 160 vineyard huts. In 2003 the wine road Mansfelder Seen (Zappendorf-Unterrißdorf) was founded, which leads along 24 sights on a length of 21 km.
