Today the Coal Railway operates as a museum railway with the rare gauge of 900 mm on the approx. 15 km long line between Meuselwitz and Regis-Breitingen.
For the most part, a former mining line, on which the raw coal used to be transported to the power plants and briquette factories, is used.
The trip starts at the Kulturbahnhof Meuselwitz and leads through the beautiful Schnaudertal and the Kammerforst. After a stop in the western town of Haselbach, the train crosses the border between Thuringia and Saxony before reaching the end point of the route in Regis-Breitingen.
Our train consists of open and closed carriages, so that nothing stands in the way of an unforgettable travel experience. The saloon car is also used with pleasure. In the saloon of the western town of Haselbach you have the possibility to fortify yourself with different food and drinks for the return journey. Besides the narrow-gauge railway, a technical museum and the model railway, the locomotive shed in Meuselwitz is also available for different events.
