Schlossgarten mit Schlossgartensalon is one of the most beautiful parks in the network "Garden Dreams".

The palace garden was laid out in 1661 as a baroque pleasure garden. Around 1730, the palace garden salon, which is used today for cultural events, was created as the northern boundary of the grounds. The historic palace garden, which has been extensively renovated with handicapped accessible access and made more attractive for tourists as part of the Cathedral Palace ensemble, was integrated into the state-wide network "Garden Dreams - Historic Parks in Saxony-Anhalt" in 2006. In addition to the baroque chestnut avenue dating from the 18th century, individual groups of trees and shrubs from the phase of landscape redesign by Lennè have been preserved in the castle garden. Two pairs of obelisks commemorate the founders of the complex, Duke Christian I and his wife Christiane, as well as their son Christian II and his wife Erdmuthe Dorothea. Since 1998 the equestrian statue of Friedrich Wilhelm III has been standing in the palace garden again. From the easternmost vantage point of the garden one has an impressive view over the Saale and the weir.
The castle garden is open to all visitors all year round and, as a green heart in the middle of the city, offers relaxation from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

"Walk with your eyes through the garden dream parks!
Thanks to the "Gartenträume 360 Grad" project, almost all of Saxony-Anhalt's 50 garden dream parks can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home with a panoramic view. In some of the pictures there are one or two surprises. Tip: Switch on the sound and be curious! The project "Gartenträume 360 Grad" was sponsored by the state of Saxony-Anhalt.
