The history of the Schulze Winery begins in 1999 with the revival of viticulture at Posa Monastery in Zeitz. After a break of more than 200 years it was decided to revive the winegrowing tradition at the Schulze Winery. On the southern slope of the monastery we planted the first vines of the Dornfelder variety in the historic soil. A long tradition of wines from Burgenland should begin. In further years the winery was enlarged and numerous awards and medals were won for the high quality wines from Burgenland. Particularly noteworthy are the "Bundesehrenpreis" awards which the winery has received continuously from 2012 to 2018. This is the highest German award a winery can receive. Furthermore, the honorary awards "Best Winery of the State Wine Awards" 2006 and 2014. Further awards are the honorary award of the wine ambassador Gunter Emmerlich for the best wine of the State Wine Awards 2013, the honorary award of the Volksbank Halle at the State Wine Awards 2013 and the honorary award of the Burgenland District 2015 and 2016. The winegrowers can also be very proud of the "Goldener Preis Extra" for the 2014 semi-dry Silvaner, which was selected as one of the best 10 wines at the DLG Federal Wine Awards.
