Description:

The Finne is the eastern foothills of the Harz mountains, which runs through Saale-Unstrut as a mountain range.

The hiking trail runs from Weißenfels through the most beautiful section of the region, touches the Unstruttal valley with its uniquely beautiful terraced vineyards and sandstone vineyard houses in the Blütengrund near Naumburg, and leaves the Saale valley near Bad Sulza after paying a visit to Rudelsburg Castle and Saaleck Castle. From Auerstedt you can soon see Eckartsburg Castle.

Along the ridge of the Finne, the trail continues via Marienthal through wonderful woodlands to Rastenberg. From Burgwenden, the hiking trail leads through beautiful deciduous forests directly on the ridge with views to the north and south and reaches the breakthrough valley of the Unstrut in Sachsenburg - the hiking destination and starting point of the Hainleitewanderweg.

2nd stage: Naumburg - Bad Kösen / Himmelreich (16km)
3rd stage: Bad Kösen - Marienthal (16km)
4th stage: Marienthal - Rastenberg (14km)
5th stage: Rastenberg - Burgwenden (15km)
6th stage: Burgwenden - Sachsenburg (13km)

NOTE: On the stretch between Eckartsberga/ Marienthal and Rastenberg the path is currently only limited usable, due to changes in the forest, logging and stretch private ownership of the path.
