Description:

The Himmelsscheibenradweg connects the archaeologically important places.

The cycle path is approx. 73 km long. It connects the site where the Nebra Sky Disk was found with the Sky Disk. It is exhibited in the State Museum of Prehistory in Halle (Saale), it was found on the Mittelberg in the Ziegelroda Forest.
Three kilometres from the site is the Nebra Ark Visitor Centre. In addition to these archaeological sites, the cycle route passes through

The cycle path is approx. 73 km long. It connects the site where the Nebra Sky Disk was found with the Sky Disk. It is exhibited in the State Museum of Prehistory in Halle (Saale), it was found on the Mittelberg in the Ziegelroda Forest.
Three kilometres from the site is the Nebra Ark Visitor Centre. In addition to these archaeological sites, the cycle path leads through charming landscapes, e.g. through the "Mansfeld Lakes" wine route, past the "Sweet Lake" and through the extensive Ziegelroda Forest.

Pathway:
Wangen (Unstrut cycle path) - Arche Nebra - Mittelberg - Hermannseck - Leimbach - Querfurt - Obhausen - Kuckenburg - Esperstedt - Schraplaus - Stedten - Röblingen am See - Aseleben - Rollsdorf - Langenbogen - Zappendorf - Bankendorf - Lieskau - Halle (Saale)

Attention: Due to construction work in Schraplau, there is a signposted diversion on the route between Esperstedt and Stedten. 
 
Extended tour description:
Since the construction of the cycle path on the L 172, the cycle route between Leimbach and Ziegelroder Forst no longer runs through the Drift, but along the L 172. In good weather, however, the route through the Drift is the better recommendation.
The Sky Disc Cycle Path is not yet fully developed.

Between Röblingen and Aseleben the cycle route leads along the L 176. An avoidance is possible via the route Amsdorf - Wansleben.

In the Ziegelroda forest (Hermannsec - Kleinwangen) the route is led on forest paths: It is essential to observe the known typical dangers of the forest!

Between Langenbogen and Rollsdorf unpaved dirt road, between Zappendorf and Langenbogen as well as Querfurt and Leimbach partly unpaved dirt road.
There is a good train connection between Röblingen am See and Halle, so you can also take a shortcut here.
The Sky Disc Cycle Route forms a connection between the Unstrut Cycle Route and the Saale - Harz Cycle Route.

Directions: Since the construction of the cycle path along the L 172, the cycle route between Leimbach and Ziegelroder Forst no longer runs through the drift but along the L 172. In good weather, however, the path through the drift is a better recommendation.

Approach: There is a good train connection between Röblingen am See and Halle, so you can also take a short cut here.
