Description:

In former times the "Geisel" operated 17 mills, of which five mill buildings still exist.

The hike starts at the Geiseltalsee and leads through Mücheln with its former three districts Mücheln, St. Ulrich and St. Micheln.

The hike starts at the Geiseltalsee and leads through Mücheln with its former three districts Mücheln, St. Ulrich and St. Micheln.

The first still preserved mill building, the Hohmannmühle, was in operation until 1971. The mill was extended in half-timbered style at the beginning of the last century and is a town-defining building due to its size.
The hostage indicates the course of the hiking trail and guides you to the market square with the magnificent town hall.
At the former manor mill you can experience creativity today. The renovated mill building is a venue for workshops and family celebrations and is a centre for creativity, exchange of ideas and a place to meet.
Along the way there are information boards about all five mills. In the course you will pass the former Kirch- or Löwemühle, the Floreis- or Apfelmühle and the Spring- or Elbertmühle.
At the idyllic Geiselquelle spring you can refresh your tired feet by treading water. This is also the end point of the hike.
Tip: The hike can be supplemented in many ways. Combinations are possible, for example, with the panoramic trail Mücheln and the circular trail Müchelholz.
The Geiseltalsee is a recreational paradise for cyclists and hikers. Friends of water sports, of any kind, come here at their expense.
