300 years of the "Stone Picture Book
In the "Blütengrund" at the gates of Naumburg you will find a special feature, perhaps even a uniqueness. Here, the jeweller Johann Christian Steinauer acquired a house and a vineyard in 1722. Henceforth called "Steinauer's Vineyard", he had twelve sculpted relief sculptures, some of which are life-size, carved into the naturally grown sandstone terrace wall.

Local historians today call it the "Stone Album". Almost all the album leaves (relief) are associated with drinking or wine. Likewise, the deep piety of this time is expressed and recognisable in biblical motifs. In this special guided tour, we would like to introduce you to the motives behind the creation and the stories of the pictures.
