Description:
An educational project by MDR-Clara for the 2022 Sagittarius Jubilee
"Schütz macht Schule" is a project by MDR-Clara in honour of the 350th anniversary of the death of the "father of our modern music", Heinrich Schütz.
The project brings the pupils closer to the work of Heinrich Schütz and lets them bring his work into the modern age. In the project "RE:WRITE SCHÜTZ", they are given the opportunity to bring his setting of Psalm 96 "Sing to the Lord a new song" into the modern age.

The pupils are also allowed to work with his probably most famous work, the singspiel "Dafne", created together with the poet Martin Opitz. Under the #SUPPORTDAFNE, the pupils deal with the questions: What could have gone differently? How can one support Dafne in her flight from the lovesick Apollo?
The students' creative answers will be evaluated and the best entries will be presented in the final concert.
Enjoy a feast of creativity and zeal, surrounded by the timeless spirit of the Schütz era!
