Mit Heinrich I. übernahm zum ersten Mal ein Sachse die Krone des Frankenreichs. Aus einer Not heraus wurde er zum König ernannt und übernahm die Regierung auf außergewöhnliche Weise. Auch seine Nachfolge regelte er zu der damaligen Zeit nicht auf traditionelle Art, sondern im Sinne der Erhaltung des Ostfrankenreichs. Henry I was the first Saxon to assume the crown of the Frankish Empire. He was appointed king out of necessity and took over the government in an unusual way. Even his succession was not arranged in the traditional way at the time, but in the spirit of preserving the East Frankish Empire. Pupils from the history workshop at Burgenland-Gymnasium Laucha will find out with you what was different about the new king. On the basis of some testimonies, they will discuss with you at the place of King Henry's death how he regulated his inheritance.
