Special guided tour as part of the Romanesque opening day

The Ägidienkapelle on the north side of Naumburg Cathedral is an extraordinary treasure on the "Romanesque Road". The stone chapel named after St. Aegidius is one of the originally numerous private chapels of the canons. It was built at the beginning of the 13th century, at about the same time as Naumburg Cathedral. Its clear Romanesque architectural style with its perfectly symmetrical round arches is still impressive today. Normally, this unique testimony to the Romanesque period can only be visited on request. In a special tour we will unlock the Ägidienkapelle for you and explain the architectural style and the still preserved works of art.
