In the cathedral and in one of the largest Romanesque vaults in Central Germany, you will hear stories and legends of the saints and their works of art and get answers to the following questions: Was the Radiant Crown Madonna able to stop the cathedral fire in the 16th century and thus saved the donor figures? What was once the purpose of the Mary Magdalene altar created by Lukas Cranach or the Naumburg St. John's Bowl?
The aim of International Museum Day is to draw attention to the thematic diversity of the more than 6,500 museums in Germany and museums worldwide.
The day of action is proclaimed annually by the International Council of Museums ICOM and is highlighted by a different theme from museum work. In 2021, the focus is "Museums inspire the future".
