Tom Astor - Unplugged - "We are back"

Description:

Tom Astor reports back: "We are back".

Five years after his last studio album "Gegen den Strom", there is finally new music from Germany's greatest country singer: The brand new single "Wir sind wieder da", released just a few days after his 80th birthday, not only serves as the starting shot for the next chapter - but also as a definitive end to the cultural dry spell of the last three years. Tom Astor reports back: "We are back".

Five years after the last studio album "Gegen den Strom", there is finally new music from Germany's greatest country singer: The brand new single "Wir sind wieder da", released just a few days after his 80th birthday, not only serves as the starting shot for the next chapter - but at the same time as a definitive end to the cultural dry spell of the last three years. Now back "on the road" and in the studio, Tom Astor celebrates with his fans the fact that music can finally happen everywhere again - and that people can come together to celebrate the moment and life together.
"We're back again/All clear again," is the first bar of this multi-layered comeback anthem, whose joy over regained life is made even greater by a brief look back: "It was a hard time/It's in the past now," the down-to-earth songwriter from the tranquil town of Schmallenberg quickly and pragmatically draws a line under that cultural and interpersonal dry spell of the last few years - and clears the road for the future: "Even if it wasn't so easy, we're back!"
With steady nerves, a confident mood and a fresh glow inside because full life is finally returning, the latest single is also a family affair - which adds an extra layer to the "we" in the title: while the lyrics are penned by the country icon, this time too his son Leif Bräutigam wrote the music and also contributed to the earthy, handmade production himself. If in the course of the song the guitar is also allowed to play out its freedom for a solo, the fiddle and not least the background choir also underline the fact that the singer and songwriter is primarily concerned with this we-feeling.
