Between romantic melodies, poppy songs and old, native songs, the seven young singers find their very personal and heartfelt answer.
Look forward to works from Josquin de Prez, Silcher, Schuhmann and Mendelssohn to Sting. A genre variety of seven pure voices masterfully intoned - from high soprano to deep bass.
The Octavians are one of the best-known vocal ensembles in Central Germany. They have won several prizes in various a cappella competitions, including the coveted 1st prize in the amarcord a cappella competition in Leipzig in 2017, and shine with their versatility and vocal homogeneity. They master the balancing act between humorous and sacred songs with bravura in the spectrum from the highest soprano to the deep bass.
Founded in 2006, the ensemble emerged from the boys' choir of the Jena Philharmonic. International concerts such as the one given in Tunisia in February 2015, where the Octavians toured as "cultural ambassadors" of Germany for the Goethe-Institut, show their presence beyond national borders. Other tours have already taken the singers right across Europe. Numerous CDs with special programmes also complement the singers' work.
