Embark on a journey to the Neolithic Age and learn about the life of the first farmers and a very special place: the circular ditch at Goseck. About 7,000 years ago, people gathered there at certain times, celebrated festivals and performed rituals. The site is not only interesting archaeologically, but also astronomically: the openings of the reconstructed palisade ring are aligned according to the course of the sun: that is why the circular ditch site is also called a solar observatory. But why was the sun so important for Neolithic people?

Tip: Visit the information centre in Goseck Castle and Goseck Castle Church before or after the tour. Tickets are available on site. Walking distance approx. 1 km.
