Seven times a day the clergy met in Naumburg Cathedral for common prayer. In the east choir you can still find the wooden cathedral pews and the huge lecterns on which the medieval choir books for the liturgy could be opened. The richly decorated books are among the greatest treasures of the Naumburg Abbey Library. Even today, they bear witness to the many liturgical rituals that characterised Naumburg Cathedral well into the 19th century. In a special guided tour we will show you these traditions in an impressive way.
Due to the current regulations to contain the Corona pandemic, there is unfortunately only a limited number of visitors who may take part in the tour. In order to be able to trace infection chains, we ask you to register in advance in writing with the necessary data (surname, first name, address, telephone number) with our visitor service.
